Notice on AMD graphics drivers with more than 32 GB DDR5

Since AMD Adrenalin 24.9.1, AMD introduced two issues with certain CPU platforms and memory configurations:

• [1] Display remaining black and occasionally flashing white after driver update (>32 GB affected)
• [2] Display remaining black after wake from Hibernate (>64 GB affected)

According to AMD and our own testing, these issues have been fully solved with Adrenalin 25.8.1.

General notice on AMD Graphics Drivers

Please initially install the "OEM_ORIGINAL" version of the AMD_VGA driver (also known as "AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition"), prior to updating with the latest version from AMD's website. Our OEM driver incorporates model-specific customizations (example: the option to enable AMD Integer Scaling on the laptop's display) that will carry over to subsequent installations of the latest official AMD driver.

If you've already installed the latest AMD driver on a freshly reinstalled Windows without first using our OEM_ORIGINAL driver, we advise you to download and install our OEM_ORIGINAL version now. Make sure to select the "Clean install" option during installation. You can then proceed to update with the latest AMD driver once more.

This approach ensures that OEM-specific adjustments are integrated into the official driver as outlined in the "Extension INF" (EINF) specification. Failure to follow this method may lead to unforseen performance, compatibility or stability issues. See also our related news article (English, German).

Important notice for configurations with 96 GB DDR5

If your XMG EVO is equipped with 96 GB of RAM (2 × 48 GB DDR5), you have to manually set the memory speed to 4800 MT/s after each BIOS update. Instructions:

• Enter BIOS setup (hold F2).
• Load BIOS defaults (press F9).
• In "Advanced" page, scroll down and manually set memory speed to 4800 MT/s.
• Save & Exit (press F10).

If you do not follow this procedure, your system memory will automatically run at 5600 MT/s, which is outside of the support range for 96 GB in XMG EVO. Due to thermal constraints, running 96 GB at frequencies above 4800 MT/s will impact system stability under medium to high loads.
